MIDLIFE COACHING FOR SENIOR PROFESSIONALS
Redesign your midlife. Without blowing up what you've built.
You've built a life that looks successful from the outside. So why does it still feel like something's missing?
I'm Chris Perkins, a midlife transformation coach. I help senior professionals who look successful on the outside but feel empty on the inside. Together we redesign the next decade – without blowing up what's already working.
Nothing has gone dramatically wrong. That's exactly what makes it so hard to explain.
Is this you?
If you’re nodding along, here’s the first thing to know: this is normal, and you’re not the only one. You’ve reached a stage of life that almost nobody talks about openly. Let’s talk about it.
It's not a midlife crisis. It's a design problem.
Forget all the tired clichés. What you're feeling isn't a breakdown, and it isn't a personal failing. It's a transition – a normal, well-researched stage of life that tends to land somewhere around your late forties. Over 600 studies have mapped the dip. Your brain is quietly rewiring itself for the next phase, much as it did in adolescence.
This isn't a choice between sucking it up and blowing it up. You don't have to grit your teeth and endure it – and you don't have to torch everything to feel alive again. There's a third way: take stock properly, and redesign this next chapter on purpose, a few degrees at a time.
Most coaches only work in one area – career, or wellbeing, or mindset. But midlife doesn't arrive one problem at a time, and it can’t be solved that way either. I work across the whole picture, not one corner of it.
Because a design problem can be solved. That's the work I do.
How it works.
No grand life overhaul. Just a clear, three-step way through.
Take stock
We get an honest picture of where you are across the five challenges – happiness, relationships, purpose, health and career. What’s working, what isn’t, and what’s really behind the flatness.
Clarity instead of fog.
Try things out
Using design thinking, we run small, low-risk experiments – tiny changes you can test in real life, never one big leap. Nothing you can't undo, nothing that upends your week.
You start moving again, and your energy comes back.
Redesign
We turn what you’ve learned into a real plan for the next decade – built around what matters to you.
Without blowing up what already works.
Ways to work with me.
I coach one-to-one around the five big challenges of midlife. Not one in isolation, because your life is more complex than that.

Why people tell me “You get it.”
Because I've been where you are. In my late forties I had the senior role, the relentless commute and a growing sense that something was badly off – with no idea what to do about it. It took me a few hard years, a lot of reading and trial and error (and plenty of getting it wrong), to find my way through.
Out the other side, I built the process I wish I'd had back then. So what I bring isn't theory. It's a path I've actually walked.
What people say
Relaxed and informal, with just the right amount of challenge.
“If you want a coach who is knowledgeable, experienced and results driven, you can stop your search now. You will not regret it.”
— Melissa M.
“Chris' presence, deep listening and powerful questioning helped me gain clarity, confidence and direction. Working with Chris as my coach has been truly transformative.”
— Alok R.
“At 52 I found myself without a job, wondering what to do next and not knowing who to turn to. I started working with Chris and immediately things started to feel better.”
— Richard C.
Start with one small step
The best place to begin is the Midlife Fulfilment Snapshot. Fifteen questions, about two minutes, and you'll come away with a clear read on where you are right now and what to focus on first. Free, and no catch.
Or, let's have a chat. Here’s what Simon, a recent client, said:
“I’d say reach out and agree a time for a discovery session - worst case scenario you’ve met someone new and talked about your life and goals, which can be cathartic and useful. Best case: you may end up on a path to help you build the life you want.”
Prefer to start by watching something?
I make videos about the messy, ordinary reality of midlife – the "is this it?" feeling, golden handcuffs, burnout, finding meaning, and what to do about all of it. It's the easiest way to get a feel for how I think before we ever speak.
A few things you might be wondering.
-
Almost certainly, yes. Hardly any of the people I work with are in crisis. They're just feeling flat, in a life that looks fine from the outside. You don't have to wait for things to fall apart to want them to feel better.
-
No. Therapy tends to look back and help you heal; coaching looks forward and helps you build. If what you're carrying turns out to be more than the ordinary midlife slump, I'll say so honestly — I'm a trained Mental Health First Aider — and point you to the right support.
-
You don't need to make one. The whole approach is built on small, low-risk steps, not blowing up your schedule or your life. We start with one thing.
-
That's the most common place people start — and actually, the perfect one. Figuring out what's actually going on is the first thing we do together.
